Last year I received a request to build a new preschool in a village called Gomoa. This village is in the Centeral Region about one and a half hours away. The Assembly Man, Mr. Akroful, pleaded for me to visit the village. There were 25 children preschool attending school in the goat pen picture above. It was dark, hot and depressing. I really wanted to help but we did not have the funds needed for this project.

As Mercia always says “God being so good”, we were contacted by The Gary Moser Foundation several months earlier about building a preschool in Ghana. Gary’s Fund was started in 2004 by Susan Moser and her children to honor her late husband who had a heart for children in Africa. The Mosers had lived in various parts of Africa. To honor Gary they built schools in Kenya,South Africa and now in Ghana. Thanks to the Moser’s generousity, the children of Gomoa have left the goat pen to the goats. The new school has two beautiful classrooms and a storage room. Each class has two teachers. They even have books in twi, their local language.

THANK YOU, GARY’S FUND!!!
